Restrictions on taking exams at the Department of Economics

Several courses at the Department of Economics have restrictions, which prevents students from attending courses at lower levels if they have already passed specific courses at 2000, 3000 and 4000 level. It is not possible to improve grades in the courses which have restrictions.

See the list underneath for an overview of the restrictions for the different courses. Be aware of the fact that changes might occur, and the list will be updated accordingly.

Restrictions on courses valid from spring semester 2019

Note that the restrictions come into effect from the semester after a subject has been passed.

Restrictions on bachelor courses

You cannot attend the following courses: If you already have passed one of these courses:
Every 1000-course in economics, except from ECON1100
ECON1100 – Matematikk I
ECON1210 – Mikro?konomi 1
ECON1220 – Velferd og ?konomisk politikk
ECON1310 – Makro?konomi 1
ECON2130 – Statistikk 1
ECON2220 – Mikro?konomi 2
ECON2310 – Makro?konomi 2
ECON2610 – Strategy, competition and trade

Restrictions on combined bachelor and master courses, and master courses

You cannot attend the following courses: If you already have passed one of these courses:

ECON3150 – Introductory EconometricsECON4150 – Introductory Econometrics

 

An exception is made for the restriction to take the course ECON3150/ECON4150 for spring 2023, if you have taken ECON4160, ECON4137 or ECON5106.

ECON3220 – Microeconomics 3ECON4220 – Microeconomics 3
ECON4310 – Macroeconomic Theory
